Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County (KY) Announces They Save 40 Hours a Month in Labor With Aladtec’s EMS Manager for Staff Scheduling

This company’s switch to online employee scheduling and workforce management frees up 10 hours a week for administrators.

August 19, 2013 – London, KY – Ambulance Inc. realized how outdated their previous method of scheduling staff was when they were shown an EMS Manager system. “One of our employees showed us how he is scheduled at another company he works for. He explained it is an online system so he can access his schedule anytime from anywhere. The next day I called Aladtec, the company who makes EMS Manager, and a sales rep set me up with a free trial version,” explains Major Jamey Mills, Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County. “We used the free trial for about three weeks and we were sold on the system. Aladtec basically built me an EMS Manager system that suits our service perfectly. Previously we used paper and pencil to make the schedule. EMS Manager saves us 10 hours a week…that’s 40 hours a month!”

Laurel County KYThis time savings of 40 hours a month translates into recouping about 12 weeks a year in labor for Ambulance Inc., simply by using EMS Manager for scheduling and workforce management. “EMS Manager basically took all the paperwork out of scheduling and out of our daily operations,” adds Mills. “Also, I believe the system will save us upwards of $5000.00 annually in unplanned overtime costs.”

By switching to an online scheduling system, Major Mills says they now schedule a month out, instead of weekly, so their 63 employees can see well in advance what their schedule will be. He also indicates the mobile web app is used by nearly all his crew members because they can view their schedule while on the go from anywhere. His staff also says they appreciate how easy EMS Manager is to navigate.

“In addition to the ease of scheduling and ease of use, my favorite feature is the Time Clock. The Time Clock system, has really assisted us in getting employees to work on time,” shares Mills. “Now they know we’ll discover if they are on time or late.”

EMS Manager’s Time Clock is an optional feature which provides a unique time and attendance module allowing customers to:

  • Control costs by comparing scheduled time to actual time worked
  • Track employee time from anywhere with an Internet connection
  • Reduce the effort and hassles commonly associated with payroll
  • Enforce compliance requirements with built-in clock in/out rules

“In closing, I’d like to say EMS Manager is a great program and we really value the free technical support Aladtec provides their customers. I call, tell them what I need and they fix it for me,” Major Mills concludes.
